Contretemps is a classical ballet term meaning “beating against time.”
When i shot this movie i wanted to express the tragedy of rejection and the feeling of running against time in an expressionistic movie that explores the feelings of artists as they grow older without seeing success. my target was to convey the idea that trying and doing the thing you love is all that matters even if it doesn't always lead to great success and fame.
